Centre for Research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University, West Bengal, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, to be offered in the session 2011. The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written MCQ test of one hour duration. Candidates who qualify the written test will have to face an interview for final selection. An overall knowledge on all branches of Science and Technology is the prime requirement for the admission test.

Note: Candidates who have pased M Tech / M Phil / MD / ME / M Pharm or equivalent examination or cleared NET/GATE/SLET/SET/JEST or equivalent examination are exempted from appearing for the admission test but would have to appear for the interview. However, all interested candidates have to apply in the prescribed proforma within the date mentioned above.

Interested candidates can download the prescribed application form from the University’s official website: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/. The direct link for relevant application form is: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/Phd_Dlit/phd.pdf. Candidates are required to apply in the prescribed proforma along with Rs 100 (to be paid through a challan to any cash counters of the university). The duly filled in application form, along with the requisite documents, should be submitted latest by November 26, 2011.
