IGNOU Collaborates with IBAB to offer Master's Degree Course in Science

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has collaborated with the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB) to offer a Master's degree programme in Science. As per sources, the new programme will be called Master's in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology.
 
The new programme will be a regular course, which will be conducted at the IBAB campus in Bangalore, sources added. Candidates possessing a Bachelor's degree in any branch of Science or Technology are eligible to apply for the programme.
 
An official from IBAB said that the course aims at providing competence in both biotechnology and computational biology by providing training in the areas of cell and molecular biology, computer science, statistics, and bioinformatics. The last date of availability of the application forms at the IBAB campus is April 14, 2011, sources told.
