IGNOU Introduces Three New Courses

New Delhi: On Wednesday i.e. on July 27, 2011,Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) introduces three new courses for medical, nursing and teaching personnels. The announcement regarding the launch of the courses was made by a University official.
 
As per the IGNOU Official, the University has introduced two certificate courses and one diploma programme, which will be offered through distance education mode. He said that the first certificate course is for Auxiliary Nurse Midwives. The course aims to provide quality care to patients undergoing treatment under ayurvedic system of medicine.
 
The official mentioned that the Adolescent Health and Counselling course will train the teachers and parents to help adolescents to develop a healthy lifestyle and handle stress. Also, the Official added that it will help teachers and parents to reinforce their knowledge in understanding needs and apprehensions of adolescents, build knowledge on physical, cognitive, emotional and psychological changes.
 
Furthermore, the newly launched diploma programme in Critical Care Nursing will make sure that seriously ill patients are looked after by nurses who have advanced nursing care knowledge and skills.
