Ahmedabad: On Wednesday i.e. February 23, 2011, students of Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad (IIM-A) were educated on the film industry's dynamics by actor R Madhavan.

Madhvan told to the students in the classroom that there is no single theory on how the film industry functions. He also explained to them how unpredictable the functioning of the film industry is. As per sources, the co-star of '3 Idiots' was a visiting faculty for an elective course at IIM-A called 'Contemporary Film Industry (CFI) - a Business Perspective'. In 2010, Tollywood actress Shriya Saran had taken a session at the B-school.

Moreover, after the class Madhavan said that he had taken several such classes earlier at other places. But this time, as he always wanted to study at IIM-A, coming here to teach as a visiting faculty is a matter of great pride for him. He added that he would definitely like to come back again for another session. Besides, as he narrated the story of his road to success in the film industry, Madhavan enchanted the students of the country's top management institute with his oratory skills.

According to a student who attended the class, L Sana Macha, a PGP 2 student at the institute has said that the session was fabulous. He nicely captured our attention as he narrated the story of his journey to becoming a successful film star. He also added that his story gave us various insights of the film industry. In addition, Producer of super hit film 'Roja' Kandaswamy Bharathan, who is the coordinator of the CFI course, has said that other than the creativity and talent, the success of a film also depends on branding, the time of release and other factors.
