Indian Institute of Management – Shillong (IIM-Shillong) will soon offer a one year post-graduate executive MBA course with focus in business strategy in China. Students pursuing the course will have to stay six-month in China. The course is being introduced with an objective to attract foreign students.
The newly introduced management programme will lay emphasis on how to do business in and with China. The reason is that China is one of the biggest trading partners of India as well as the European Union. Moreover, IIM has tied up with Ocean University of China for the course.
IIM-Shillong, Director Ashoke Dutta, has said that the course will give students exposure to both the countries as it requires a six-month stay in China and the remaining six months in Shillong. He said that they are targeting global students, especially from Europe and the US with this course, which will be rolled out by the year-end.
Mr Dutta informed that the course will commence with an intake of around 30 students. He said that this programme will get an overwhelming response. He also informed that the fee structure has not been decided yet, however, it should be around Rs 15 lakh per students.
