New Delhi: Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) plans to open its branch in Kashmir by next year. The announcement was made by an official on Friday i.e. on July 15, 2011.
IIMC Director Sunit Tandon said that they are working on the modalities of establishing up IIMC's branch in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that if everything works out well, they will have an IIMC branch in Jammu and Kashmir by the next academic session of 2012-13.
As per sources, when Tandon was questioned about the location and number of seats in the proposed institute, he said that it is too early to say anything about that as they are still discussing this. Besides, he informed that there will be discussions between both the central and state governments.
