IIT-G Event Assures Tech Exposure to Schoolkids

Guwahati: Students at Indian Institute of Technology - Guwahati (IIT-G) will organize TECHNOTHOLN. It is an international school-level championship organized as part of the annual techno-management festival namely TECHNICHE. The IIT-G event assures technical exposure to school students and assures of offering knowledge outside classroom studies.
 
Usually, the prelims of TECHNOTHLON are conducted in two phases. Students are divided in two groups i.e. the Junior Squad with students of Class IX and X and Haut Squad comprising students of Class XI and XII. The prelims would take place on July 17, 2011 and the mains will be conducted between September 1- 4, 2011. As per sources, last year, above 1.5 lakh students from 70 centres across the nation had participated. Of these, top 200 students were selected to come to IIT-G campus to participate in the finals.
 
Besides, the paper is set by students of IIT and it is different from the JEE entrance paper. It is mainly comprise of questions from subjects such as logic, analytic ability and practical observation. The paper has to be attempted by a team of 2 students and it mainly tests a student's spontaneity and ability to think out of the box. Even this year too, the finalists would be invited to the IIT-G campus, during TECHNICHE, from September1-4, where they would have to compete with various other talented students. In addition, students will also get to witness various other events where different colleges from all over the country would participate.
