IIT-K Debars Bhatinda Institute

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology - Kanpur (IIT-K) authorities blacklist Gyani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology from conducting any examination pertaining to IITs in future.
 
As per sources, the step was taken after a committee submitted a report to IIT-K Director and Chairman, Joint Admission Board (JAB-2011) SG Dhande. In the report it was mentioned that the an invigilator of the institute has provided unfair help and assistance to some candidates in general and a candidate named Heenu Bansal in particular as well as has allowed extra time to some of the candidates during the first session of the examination.
 
Thereafter, the authorities of IIT-Kanpur, after discovering the charges to be true, have debarred Mukesh Grover and Preet Inder Kaur, the two invigilators of the room no. S-O of the centre from participating in the any activity, whether academic or otherwise, conducted or held by or held under the aegis of any IIT in the near future.
 
Furthermore, examination centre have been blacklisted for the conduct of any examination related to IITs in future. Dhande has also debarred Balwinder Singh Sidhu, the presiding officer of the centre, from participating in the academic activities held under the aegis of IITs.
