Mumbai: Every year,lakhs of those who don't make it to the IITs demand copies of their answer scripts, forcing the IITs to guide in transparency. This year, to imaintain transparencyin IIT-JEE 2011,the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur (IIT-K) authorities has planned to give separate password to each aspirant which he/she can use to view his answersheet and marks on the internet.
For the first time now, the 2011 edition of the JEE will put out scanned copies of every student's answer sheet. The exam was conducted on April 10, 2011 and was taken up by a total of 4.85 lakh candidates. Last year 4.72 lakh students appeared the test, however, this year there was a slightest increase in the number of students. Sanjay Dhande, IIT-Kanpur's director said that the ‘Scanned images of the optical response sheets (ORS) with the candidates' details and their responses will be displayed on the JEE website after May 25, 2011.
As per sources, like every year, IIT-Kanpur will put up key answers, allowing students, for the first time, to compare their performance, and see where they have gone wrong.
