JIMS Holds Seminar to Discover the Key to Unlock the Gen-Y Potential

Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) organizes a seminar in order to discover the key to unlock the Gen -Y potential. The seminar has been christened as ‘Gen - Y @ Workplace’. It is based on a very significant and emerging challenge managing Gen – Y @ workplace.
 
The seminar was co-organized by National HRD Network & NHRDN Mumbai Chapter in collaboration with JIMS. The day-long seminar encompassed four interactive panel discussions. The main focus was on what makes Gen-Y different from other generations, what most influences and allures them and how can organizations employ and motivate them to maximize their impact as well as productivity.
The first session held on ‘Wooing GEN-Y’ - the participants viz. Marcel Parker, Chairman, IKYA Human Capital Solutions, (Chair), Sonali Roychowdhury, Head Human Resources, Procter & Gamble India, Judhajit Das, Head Human Resources, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, K. Sudeep, Head, Talent Acquisition-India, Tata Consultancy Services and Dr. J.K. Goyal-Director, JIMS shared their insights on The Branding Way, Channelizing the Vigor and Enhancing the Proficiency.
 
The second session was on ‘GEN-Y- Communiqué’ ideas were shared on the utilization of new communication mediums and the promising role of social media by the speakers – Saagarika Ghoshal, Chief People Officer, Reliance BIG Entertainment India, Ramesh Sangare, President, HRDC, Ujjwal Banerjee, Head-Quality Assurance, Academy of Global Education Services and Pooja Jain, Associate Professor, JIMS.

The third session comprised of discussion on the topic “Keeping GEN-Y Engaged”. In the third session speakers were Rajesh Padmanabhan, Head-Human Resources, Capgemini India (Chair), Dr. Tanaya Mishra. Chief People Officer, ACC Concrete Limited, Balaji Chandrakumar, Vice President, Human Resources, Etisalat DB Telecom and Dr. Sujaya Banerjee, Chief Learning Officer, Essar Group. Discussions were made on the entertainment needs of Gen-Y. How beyond the reimbursement and economic benefits, the Gen-Y needs its share of frolic and care at the work place.
 
The last session emphasized on “Y Stay-Retention Strategies for GEN-Y”. The main points of focus of this session were Work-life Balance, Growth Opportunities, Monetary and Non-Monetary Benefits. The last session was  addressed by some eminent personalities such as Gopalji Mehrotra, VP and Global Head (HR), Zensar Technologies Ltd. (Chair), Swati Datye, Director, (HR), First Data India, Aparna Sharma, Director HR, DBOI Global Services (Deutsche Bank Group) and Priyank Parakh,HR Business Partner, Kraft Food (Cadbury India).
