Department of Jute and Fibre Technology, Institute of Jute Technology, University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University, Kolkata, West Bengal, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into the following short-term training courses for Junior Level Supervisory (JLS) courses for Jute Sector under integrated skill development scheme, in the ensuing session 2013. The courses will commence from January 9, 2013 at Department of Jute and Fibre Technology, Institute of Jute Technology, Calcutta University, 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata – 700 019 for both jute mill / jute organizations sponsored and non-sponsored general candidates.
Courses Offered:
- JLS-1: 3-Months JLS Course in Spinning Preparatory (Selection-Batching to Drawing)
- JLS-2: 3-Months JLS Course in Spinning to Winding (Spinning, Twisting and Winding)
- JLS-3: 3-Months JLS Course in Weaving Preparatory and Finishing (Beaming to Sack Sewing-Finishing)
- JLS-4: 3-Months JLS Course in Maintenance of Jute Mill Machinery

Admission to course no. JLS-1, JLS-3 and JLS-4 will be made on the basis of candidate's [general category of non-sponsored candidates (except SC / ST)] performance in the selection test, followed by interview. How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to download the prescribed application form made available on the University’s official website: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/ or other website: http://www.ijtindia.org/. Applications can also be obtained directly from the office of Department of Jute and Fibre Technology. The application fee is Rs 500 (Rs 250 for SC / ST candidates subject to submission of the attested copy of caste certificate and original produced to the office for such relaxation) which can either be paid through cash or in the form of draft drawn in favour of “Institute of Jute Technology – ISDS account-2 (revenue)”, payable at Kolkata.
The duly filled in and completed application form, along with attested copies of testimonials (as mentioned in the website) and fee, should be sent to the Department of Jute and Fibre Technology, Institute of Jute Technology, Calcutta University, 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata – 700 019, latest by January 2, 2013 (up to 5 pm).
