Department of Anthropology, University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University, Kolkata, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programme in Human Rights, to be offered in the session 2012. Admission will be made on the basis of candidate's performance in the entrance test, followed by personal interview, to be conducted by University department.
Note: Those candidates who have already passed NET / SET / SLET / GATE / Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations or passed the M Phil examination need not appear for the written examination and can directly appear at the interview.

Interested candidates may obtain the prescribed application form from the office of the Department of History, Calcutta University, Department of Anthropology, 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata 700019. Candidates should apply in the prescribed proforma by paying Rs 100 (the amount is subject to change) through a Challan obtainable from the College Street campus (cash counter). One can also download the same from the University's official website: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/. The duly filled-in and completed application form, along with all requisite enclosure documents (details given on the website), should be submitted at the office of the Department of Anthropology, University of Calcutta, latest by December 20, 2012.
