S N Pradhan Centre for Neurosciences, University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University, Kolkata, West Bengal, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programme in Neuroscience, to be offered in the session 2012. Admission will be made on the basis of candidates' performance in the Research Eligibility Test 2012, also known as RET, followed by personal interview, to be conducted by the University.
Note: Those who have passed UGC-CSIR (JRF) NET / SET / SLET / GATE / Teacher fellowship or equivalent examination or passed M Phil / M Tech / MD / M Pharm or equivalent may directly submit a statement of purpose indicating the area of research interest (not exceeding 1000 words) and appear for the interview.

How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to download the prescribed application form from the University’s official website: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/. The application / examination fee is Rs 100 which is to be paid at the University cash counter through a Challan obtainable from the University Sales counter at the CU college street campus / Law campus, Calcutta University. The duly filled-in and completed application form, along with all requisite enclosure documents and photocopy of the Challan of RET examination fee (deposited by the candidate), should be submitted to the Executive Director of the S N Pradhan Centre, latest by May 14, 2012.
