New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) has extended the sale as well as receipt of exam forms up to November 7, 2012, for examinations to be held in November/December 2012. As per sources, the University took the action following the protest of few students who had petitioned the High Court to direct DU to extend the last date for the same. This, they did after the University and its affiliated colleges decided not to accept examination forms on account of lapse of the last date of submission, which was September 30, 2012.
In addition, the students contended that they had no knowledge of the last date as no notice was put up in the colleges. Moreover, DU put up a notice in the University office stating the last date as September 30 while the signature on the notice bore the date of October 3. Looking over the petition, the court sought the University's opinion on extending the date and DU said it had decided to extend the deadline.
Therefore, D S Jaggi, Controller of Examinations, recently issued a notification informing all colleges that the last date of submission of examination forms for under-graduate semester I, III and V examinations and post-graduate as well as ex-students, to be held in November / December 2012, has been extended up to Wednesday, November 7, 2012.
