New Delhi: School of Law (SOL), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, has invited applications for its Cyber Law programme namely, “Post Graduate Certificate in Cyber Law”, for the ensuing session 2012. As per the notification issued by the University, the course seeks to address the fast changing needs of knowledge society in cyberspace.
The course is of minimum six months duration which can be completed in a maximum time period of two years. A graduate in any discipline or fourth and fifth year students of five year integrated LLB course who have passed three years are eligible to apply for and pursue this programme.
In addition, the programme is being offered in two modes, both distance and online, from which learners can choose their mode of study. The online platform is available on the direct link: http://www.ignouonline.ac.in/vel/ which has several innovative features like walk-in admission, integrated multimedia courseware, e-counselling, online examination and assignment management system. Moreover, facility for online payment gateway is also available for registration.
Student Handbook and Prospectus is made available in all Regional Centers of the University as well as in the University’s headquarters and at the City Centre, YMCA building in CP, which can be purchased for Rs 100 and submitted along with the requisite fee in the form of a DD to the concerned regional center. The last date to apply for the law programme is July 30, 2012 without late fee and August 14, 2012 with a late fee of Rs 200.
In addition, this PGCCL programme enables the learner to understand, explore, and acquire a critical understanding of cyber law, develop competencies for dealing with frauds and deceptions (confidence tricks, scams) and other cyber crimes like child pornography etc. that has been taking place via Internet.
