IIT Madras to Organize 49th Convocation

Chennai: Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), Tamil Nadu, will organize its 49th convocation ceremony on July 20, 2012 from 4.00 pm onwards. The ceremony will be held at the Student Activity Centre (SAC), IIT Madras. All eligible B Tech, M Tech, DD, MBA, MA and M Sc, MS and PhD graduands, who have completed their courses, will be awarded degrees during the convocation.
 
As per the notification issued by the Institute, Shri. Fali Sam Nariman, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, has very kindly consented to grace the event as Chief Guest. All students, who want to receive their degrees in person / in absentia, are required to register online by filling in the online registration form made available on the Institute's official website: http://www.iitm.ac.in/. The last date of online registration is June 27, 2012. However, a compulsory rehearsal will be held on July 19, 2012 at 4.00 pm at SAC Building, IIT Madras. Candidates must attend the rehearsals as only those students who attend this rehearsal will be allowed to attend the Convocation.
 
In addition, all participants are notified that for operational convenience, the gowns will only be issued from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm on July 19, 2012 and from 7.00 am to 9.00 am on July 20, 2012, only to the graduand in person.
