Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, popularly known as SGPGIMS, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into the below mentioned courses in medical sciences, approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit obtained in the entrance test, to be conducted by the institute. Final selection is made according to the medical examination.
Note:
- Candidates seeking admission in Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) programme are exempted from the entrance test. However, they have to appear for the interview, to be held on July 16, 2012. In addition, for admission to PDF courses, the candidates should submit a write up of about 200 words to describe their work in the area, reason for applying to PDF course and what do they desire to do after PDF. They should also give names of two referees.
- A candidate can apply only for one programme. No change in the course applied for will be allowed under any circumstances after the submission of the application form.
- Working candidates of Central / State Government Organizations, Universities and Defence services can also apply. However, they will not get any relaxation in the method of selection, duration of course, practical training, pattern of examination and payment of prescribed fee.

How to Apply
Interested candidates may apply by downloading the application form from the official website of the Institute: http://www.sgpgi.ac.in/. Online application form will be available from May 5, 2012 to May 22, 2012. An application of Rs 1000 is to be paid by the candidates through Demand Draft drawn in favor of Director, SGPGIMS, Lucknow Academic Account, payable at SBI, SGPGI Branch, (Code No. 7789), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh - 226014.
The duly filled-in printout of the downloaded application form along with all requisite enclosures (list given on the website) should be sent to the Executive Registrar, SGPGIMS, Rai Bareli Road, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh - 226014 on or before the below mentioned last date of submission of application form.
