Allahabad: University of Allahabad, popularly known as Allahabad University, located in Uttar Pradesh, is planning to offer diploma course in Gandhian Studies and diploma course in Tourism. The courses will be conducted by the University’s Department of Geography. The decision was taken at the University’s Academic Council recently.
The University Council has also decided to issue computerized D Phil degrees to the scholars. Moreover, the topic of research of the scholars would also be mentioned on the degree. Later, it was decided that the University should hold its convocation in the session 2013-14.
Sources informed that the Academic Council has given its approval to D Phil course at GB Pant Institute and in the department of Physical Education, of the University. Furthermore, the Chancellor's Medal would now be changed to Visitor's Medal after the Indian President.
Situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh, University of Allahabad (UOA), or Allahabad University, is one of the leading centres of higher education in the country. The University was established on September 23, 1887, however, it got the status of a Central University in the year 2005. The University provides courses in numerous faculties, via its various affiliated colleges / institutes spread across the state.
