The anxious wait of numerous students who appeared for CBSE Class XII examination is about to come to an end. The CBSE Board is likely to announce the results of Class XII Examination 2013 by the end of next week. In a statement issued the CBSE chairman Vineet Joshi has said that the result would be out around May 26, 2013.
As per sources, this year approximately 17,500 students from the Tricity appeared for Class XII board examinations which were conducted from March 1 till April 17. Almost 43% of this batch had skipped the Class X board exams when given the option of choosing school exams instead in 2011.
In addition, the result is also much awaited by JEE (main) candidates as for the first time their admission to top-notch institutes would depend on their Class XII results. Though the result for JEE (Mains) was declared on May 7, 2013, no ranks were given as a separate rank list for it would be declared by July 7, 2013 for admissions to BE/BTech and BArch/BPlanning in institutes other than IITs. This list will on the basis of the JEE main result with 60% of weightage, while Class XII results would have 40% weightage. Now, students are eagerly waiting for the results.
This final rank list issued would be basis for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes at NITs, IITs, centrally and state funded technical institutes. Sidhdhant Arora, a non-medical student of Class XII has said that he is waiting for the rank list which will only be declared after the Class XII results. It will announce the toppers and thus decide the institution you will get admission into. Along with students, their parents too are tense about the results.
