GGSIPU Offers Online Counseling for B Tech and BBA Programmes

New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) will allot seats in Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programmes through online counseling from the coming academic session. The online counseling will help students in completing their admission process from any part of the country through internet. Moreover, it will also reduce human error.

DK Bandyopadhyay, Vice Chancellor of GGSIPU has said that the University is keen to keep up with the latest changes in the technology and introducing online counseling for B Tech and BBA admission is the best way to do so as these two are the most popular programmes offered at the University with having 6,500 and 5,400 seats, respectively.

Explaining about how the online counseling will work, Mr Bandyopadhyay has said that the students will have to first fill up their details including the preference of college and course in an OMR sheet thereafter, they will be sorted on the basis of eligibility criteria, following which the information will be fed into a database.

There are fixed number of seats in each college of the University. For every college, students will have to fill separate OMR form, which will be fed into the master list by all affiliated colleges. The University will publish the list on its official website: http://www.ggsipu.nic.in. Seats will be blocked once the students qualify for a certain course.

Moreover, colleges will open an admission window for around a week and students will have to go along with all relevant documents for completing the registration procedure. One has to pay the prescribed admission fee in order to secure the seats in the desired programme. The process will be on till all the seats in the B Tech and BBA course are not filled up. The online counseling is expected to start in the first week of June and students are advised to keep visiting the abovementioned official website of the University for regular updates.
