New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi, has issued a fixed fee structure for the upcoming admission session 2012-13. As per sources, this step has been taken according to the University’s new admission policy. With the sale of prospectus from December 2, 2011, the University started the admission process for its MBA courses for the year 2012-13.
Sources said that as per the new admission policy, apart from the fee being mentioned in the University’s prospectus, the colleges, too, would have to affirm the fee structure in their profiles. In addition, the colleges will not be permitted to charge anything over and above what has been specified. The step has been finalized by the University to bring transparency in the admission process, as it was receiving complaints regarding the irregularity of the fee charged by colleges.
In the same context, Colonel Pradeep Upamanyu, Joint Registrar, Academics, said that in the upcoming admission session, students will not face any uncertainty as the University prospectuses will have complete details of fees. He also said that the colleges will not be able to charge anything extra apart from the specified fee (course fee), Rs 1000 as student activity fee, and one time refundable fee of Rs 5000.
Upamanyu further clarified that the new fee structure is based on the Delhi Government's State Fee Committee's decision. However, the University prospectus will mention the complete fee structure for each course to be offered by the University and its affiliated colleges. At present, the University has around 103 affiliated colleges.
