Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi, has invited applications from eligible candidates for Common Proficiency Test (CPT) (Paper-Pencil Mode), scheduled to be held in June 2013. CPT is an all India level entrance examination conducted by ICAI for admission into Chartered Accountancy course.
Note: Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is open only for those students who are already registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the said course on or before April 2, 2013 and fulfill the requisite eligibility conditions.
Date of Exam
CPT (Paper-Pencil Mode) June 2013 is scheduled to be held on June 16, 2013 as per the following schedule:
First Session (i.e. Morning Session)
10:30 am to 12:30 pm (IST)
Section - A - Fundamentals of Accounting
Section - B - Mercantile Laws
Second Session (i.e. Afternoon Session)
2:00 pm to 4:00 pm (IST)
Section - C - General Economics
Section - D - Quantitative Aptitude
Test Centers

How to Apply
Interested candidates can obtain the application form for Common Proficiency Test (to be made in the relevant prescribed form as contained in the Information Brochure) from the Additional Secretary (Examinations), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi - 110 002 by paying an amount of Rs 1000 (Rs 500 towards examination fee and Rs 500 towards cost of application form and information brochure). Those opting for overseas centers will have to pay an application fee of US$ 160 (US$ 150 towards examination fee and US$ 10 towards cost of application form and information brochure) or its equivalent in Indian National Rupees (INR). In addition, the information brochure containing Common Proficiency Test application form will also be available at the Regional and Branch Offices of the Institute from April 3, 2013 onwards.
One can also apply online by filling up the application form online on: http://icaiexam.icai.org from April 3, 2013 (10:00 hrs) to April 24, 2013 (17:30 hrs). In case of online application, one has to remit the registration fee (as mentioned above) online by using either VISA or MASTER Credit / Debit Card. Candidates paying through Credit / Debit Card shall not be charged Rs 500 (i.e. cost of application form fee) in order to popularize filling-in of application form online. The duly filled and completed CPT application forms should be sent to the Additional Secretary (Examinations), ICAI New Delhi, on or before the below mentioned last date of submission. However, application form can also be submitted by hand at the offices of the Institute in New Delhi and at the Decentralized Offices of the Institute in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Pune upto the last date of application.
