This year, the Indian Institute of Management - Tiruchirappalli has expanded with the setting up of a new centre in Chennai.
As per sources, the second batch of its three-year post graduate programme in business management will begin from the Chennai centre from July 2013. PGPBM, a flagship programme of the institute, is particularly designed keeping in mind the fact to enable working executives to equip themselves with a formal management education.
Sources added that on August 27, 2012, the Chennai Centre of IIM Trichy was inaugurated with an aim to serve the growing demand for formal management education and executive education programmes among management personnel and companies in and around Chennai. The Chennai center is spread across a land area of of over 14,000 square feet. It is situated amidst industrial and software companies, in Ekkatuthangal, Chennai.
Furthermore, the upcoming centre would be equipped with video conferencing facility and connected with its Trichy campus. Soon, the institute also plans to install a lecture capture system in order to facilitate students to catch up and refresh their learning from classroom lecture sessions at their convenience. Besides, the IIM Trichy is soon about to announce a range of short-term executive education programmes and customized management programmes for individual companies, at its Chennai Centre.
