SRM University to Introduce 11 New Courses

The SRM University will be introducing 11 new courses along with dual degree and integrated courses from this academic session.

On Thursday i.e. on May 16, 2013 in a statement issued by Vice-chancellor M Ponnavaiko  has said that this year, two four-year courses (BSc Renal Dialysis Technology and BSc Radiology and Imaging Technology), a two-year MSc Medical Physics programme, MSc Econometrics, MA International Studies and MCom Finance and Accounts will be introduced.

In addition, three MTech programmes, including food safety and quality management, and in renewable and solar photovoltaic technology will be offered. Also, a dual degree in order to help candidates pursue a Master of Health Management and an MBA degree at the end of the course, and a five-year integrated MBA which students will be able to take up after class 12 have been designed.

Furthermore, Ponnavaiko said that three diploma programmes, including a diploma in politics, leadership and political entrepreneurship will be introduced. He mentioned that the other two diplomas will be introduced on value education and an international Tamil teachers' diploma. He added that the Chancellor TR Pachamuthu has released the results of the entrance examination. Moreover, Ponnavaiko has informed that counseling for the BTech course will commence on June 1, and 60,000 candidates will be called for counseling in batches of 4,000 per day.
