Personality Development Course Launched by DU

New Delhi: Keeping in mind the needs of modern-day students, for soft skills, DelhiUniversity (DU) has launched a personality development course. The course aims to enhance the soft skills of an individual, as they are becoming as important as academic qualifications.

Deepak Pental, Vice-Chancellor - DU, said that society is getting more and more complex with the passing time. There is a difference in the way we travel, interact or work. Hence, it is important for all of us to know how to operate within these complex structures. He, further, added that a person should know how to run an organization, institute or a department as well as learn to blend theory and practice.

The newly launched personality development course will be of three months’ duration, which will offer 75 hours of training to participants, on various aspects related to one’s personality. The course content will include topics such as understanding self and others, psychological assessment, communication, motivation, stress and time management, group discussion and interview, conflict management, leadership and holistic wellness. Students enrolling for the course will be charged a fee of Rs 2500.

A pilot project, on similar lines, was launched by Delhi University’s Institute of Lifelong Learning (ILLL), last year. As per sources, the pilot project was meant only for DU students. However, this year, many non-DU students too had applied for the course and the university decided to keep it open for all. The institute has now decided to start two batches of 40 students each.
