ABVP Wins Delhi University Elections 2010

New Delhi: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), student wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has won the Delhi University (DU) elections today i.e. September 4, 2010. The polling was held on Friday i.e. September 3, 2010. Around 40 percent of the electorate had turned out for polling.
 
Jitender Chaudhary, Priya Dabas and Neetu Dabas bagged the posts of President, Vice-President and Secretary of Delhi University Students Union (DUSU), respectively. The post of Joint Secretary went to Akshay Kumar of National Students Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress party.
 

About 41 students were in the battle for the four posts of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Joint Secretary. A total of 11 candidates had contested for the post of DUSU president. ABVP-backed independent candidate had won the post of President last year, after disqualification of official candidates of both NSUI and ABVP.
