New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) has launched a new programme namely Global Business Foundation Skills Course, jointly with National Association of Software & Services Companies (NASSCOM). The University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NASSCOM in order to launch the course.
NASSCOM with contributions from other renowned member BPO organizations like Genpact, Accenture, Convergys, Deloitte, Dell and IBM have designed the course for this programme. Through this programme, DU will help the students seeking employment in BPO industry. In addition, the University plans to introduce it as an add-on course for students pursuing Undergraduate programmes in all colleges.
Candidates willing to pursue the course will have to go through a NASSCOM Assessment of Competence (NAC) diagnostic test, which will assess their current skill levels. On completion of curriculum and training, the student will take the final NAC test, which will be the scorecard of his/her management and business pertaining skills and competencies.
Deepak Pental, Vice Chancellor of DU, called it a landmark event as for the first time the University and NASSCOM joined hands to address employability. He also mentioned that negotiations for other domain specific courses like Finance and Accounting are in the pipeline.
