Jamia School Students to Organize a Kite Flying Competition on World Peace Day

New Delhi: Students ofJamia Millia Islamia (JMI) School will organize a kite flying competition on the occasion of the World Peace Day, i.e. on September 21, 2010. Professor S M Rashid, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia will be the chief guest. This symbolic gesture is not just to enshrine the principle of peace but also to generate consciousness among young students, according to the statement of a spokesperson.
 
In 1981, for the first time, the International Day of Peace, also known as the World Peace Day, was celebrated. This day is dedicated to the cause of peace and observed by countries across the world. Furthermore, according to the spokesperson, Jamia Millia Islamia affirms its commitment of upholding values of universal peace by celebrating this day.
