New Delhi: The Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) University will organize a six-day EPW Workshop on ‘Research Writing and Publication in the Social Sciences’, commencing from August 23, 2010.
Jamia will conduct the workshop with a purpose to provide young faculty members and post-doctoral scholars from all over the nation with a prospect to learn and discuss the techniques of research writing and publication. Moreover, this will help participants understand how to structure research papers effectively, enhance their ability to critique, edit and review their own work and familiarize them with the academic publication process.
The workshop will be conducted by resource persons from Jamia and other Universities as also with inputs from the staff of Economic and Political Weekly (EPW), who have experience in writing, editing and publishing research papers. It has been designed as an intensive mix of lectures, presentations, and group discussions. The modules of the workshop include structures of research papers, plagiarism and ethics of research, research methodology, literature review, publication process/formatting for submission etc.
