Online CAT 2010 Commences Today

New Delhi: The online Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010 will be commencing today i.e. October 27, 2010. The online CAT 2010 will be over on November 24, 2010. As per sources, 204267 candidates have registered themselves for the test this year. As many as 19931 candidates are expected to take the test from Delhi alone, sources added.
 
The online CAT 2010 will be conducted in two sessions each day. The morning session will start at 10.00 am. The second session will start from 3.30 pm. For morning session, candidates are required to report by 8.30 am. However, for the second session, candidates are supposed to report by 2.00 pm. The duration of the test will be two hours and 30 minutes.
 
As per sources, Prometric, an American based testing firm will conduct the online CAT this year. A representative from Prometric said that they are taking a longer period for technical readiness and extensive operational trials. This includes preparing and testing all the computers that will be used to conduct CAT 2010, representative added.

Further, the representative told that all test centers employees have undergone a certification programme to assist candidates and to ensure smooth conduct of the test. Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted by Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) to select students for its postgraduate (PG) programmes in management.
