St Stephen's Cut-offs Drop Down

New Delhi: On Sunday, i.e. on June 13, 2010, a pleasant surprise was stored for students desirous of seeking admission into much sough-after St Stephen's College of Delhi University. The college announced reduced cut-offs in several courses, this year.
 
Even though, students clearing the cut-off still have to face an interview. The present admission formula followed by St Stephen's College is Class XII marks carry 75% weightage, Class X marks 10% and the interview 15% weightage. With cut-offs going down by up to three per cent for general category students in St. Stephen’s College, more candidates will appear for the interviews this year. Around 3000 students will appear for the interviews for various subjects this year.
 
Students with Science background who wish to pursue humanities are the main beneficiaries of the reduced cut-offs. With the minimum for applying for Economics, English, Mathematics and the BA programme coming down. While the Economics cut-off came down by 0.50% for science students, in Mathematics, it dropped by 1%. English (honours) also dropped by 1.50% for the science stream, while the BA programme dropped 2% compared to last year. However, Philosophy (honours) got tougher this year, with a 4% rise for science students, though it dropped for commerce students.
