CAT 2011 Registration Date Extended to Oct 4

New Delhi: The CAT committee has extended the last date for registration of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2011 to October 4, 2011. In addition, the CAT committee has also extended the deadline for sale of CAT vouchers to October 1, 2011. The vouchers for the CAT 2011 are available for sale at selected Axis Bank branches.

Common Admission Test, popularly known as CAT, is conducted by Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), in collaboration with Prometric. Sources have informed that the decision to extend the deadline has been made to accommodate aspirants of institutes such as IITs and Faculty of Management Studies under Delhi University, which decided to join CAT 2011. FMS decided to enroll students on the basis of CAT score, after DU expressed its incapability to conduct the entrance test.

Earlier, the last date for CAT 2011 registration was September 28, 2011. Besides, the computer based test, which is scheduled to start from October 22, 2011, is witnessing huge rush of applicants, as the IITs are done away with the Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) for admission to management programmes and more B-schools decided to come under CAT.
