DTU to Opt For Online Admission This Session

New Delhi: Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly known as the Delhi College of Engineering is likely to opt for the online admission process, this session onwards. The DTU enrollment session will commence from June 7, 2011 for the 2011-12 academic session.
 
The Vice Chancellor of the DTU, P B Sharma said that the admission process comprise of three phases. He also added that the admissions will be completed by July 26 and the new academic year will commence from August 2, 2011.
 
He said that the B Tech programme in mathematics and computing with an intake 60 seats will also be introduced from this session. And moreover, the university will for the first time introduce online registration process and finishing the manual process completely, he concluded.
 
Amongst the three phases, the first phase of admission will start from June 7 and continue till June 15, where aspirants will be allowed to register online. For the online registration process, candidates are required to submit their details, pay registration fee (application fee) online and will be allotted a user id and password.
 
In the second phase, eligible candidates will be allowed to indicate their subject preference, and this session will start from June 23 till June 29.Besides, during this phase candidates will be allowed to change their choices latest by June 29, 2011.
 
However, in the third and final phase actual allotment of seats will be done. The first list of eligible applicants will be displayed on the website on the first week of July. Selected candidates will be required to visit the university, submit their documents, pay the fees and secure their admission during the allotted days.
 
The admissions will be done on the basis of the rank obtained in AIEEE-2011 and subject to a student clearing his/ her class XII or B Sc (General) or B Sc (H) examination with minimum 60% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics. A candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study.
