DU Announces Fifth Cut-Off List

New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) has come up with its fifth cut-off list for undergraduate admissions, for the ensuing session 2011. After, the University's fifth list being announced, students belonging to OBC category are hopeful of seeking admissions. Students falling under the general category are left with no hope, as admissions are almost over.
 
As per sources, admission to courses such as Political Science, History, Economics, English, Physics and Chemistry are full at most of the colleges. Enrollment to B Com (honours) has reopened at Acharya Narendra Dev College and College of Vocational Studies with a dip of 0.25%. PGDAV is also offering the course at 87.75% to commerce students.
 
In the north campus colleges, still there chances of enrollment for BA Programme, BCom, BA (honours) economics and geography, BSc life sciences and BA (honours) in Hindi and Sanskrit. In addition, Kirori Mal still has some seats vacant in BCom and BA (honours) in geography and Hindi. Admission to BA Programme with Sanskrit is available at Hans Raj, at 77%. The Ramjas College will carry on with its admission procedure for BA (honours) economics after a dip of cut-off by 0.25%. In case of general category candidates Life science is the only science course available in Daulat Ram College at 68%.
 
Moreover, Sri Venkateswara College too will continue its admissions in life sciences at 69%, while another south campus college, Ram Lal Anand will still admit students in BSc (honours) geology at 71%. Admission to BSc physical science is also available at only one college Moti Lal Nehru at 72%, which hasn't changed from the previous list. However, there is no option left for aspirants of pure sciences, one can opt for biochemistry at Deshbandhu College and electronics at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College near Moti Nagar.
 
Shri Ram College of Commerce has slashed its OBC cut-off for BCom (honours) by 1.5%. This is the biggest dip introduced by SRCC, this year. Commerce students can take admission to BA (honours) economics, as it has been reopened for OBC at 91%, which is 0.25% lower than the third cut-off. Total of 43 colleges are still open for admissions to OBC students in BCom (honours), however, only four colleges open for the general category.
 
Candidates aspiring to take admission in English can now try at four CATE colleges - Zakir Hussain, Deshbandhu, Shyam Lal and Janaki Devi Memorial. Deshbandhu has lowered its cut-off by 6.5% and Shyam Lal and Zakir Hussain have dipped it by 3% each.
