DU Fourth Cut-Off List Coming Up on July 2

New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) is likely to announce its fourth cut off list on July 2, 2011. However, it is anticipated to come up with very less hope for the aspirants. After, the University announced its third cut-off, in the second day itself most colleges were done with their general category seats for various courses. Therefore, there is very less hope remaining for the subsequent lists.
 
As per sources, admissions have been already closed at Ramjas College in the third list itself. Also, Hansraj, Miranda House and SGTB Khalsa, are set to close their admissions for the general candidates. Colleges like Daulat Ram College may have few admission options for BA (H) philosophy, Sanskrit and BSc life sciences. Ira Pandit, media coordinator, Daulat Ram, said that their admissions will remain open in a couple of courses. He said that they have made over-admissions in many courses. So far, the college has admitted 1,180 candidates for 1077 seats. However, the college is expecting some withdrawals in economics, commerce and biochemistry.
 
After the University announces its fourth list, Hindu College will have nothing to offer except BA (H) Sanskrit. The college is done with its total of over 994 seats available for admission in the general category. Anju Srivastava, media coordinator, Hindu College, said that until now, except for Sanskrit (H), they will have to close admissions for general candidates. Presently, the college is open for admission into eight courses in the third list, but all the seats are filled up. However, OBC admissions will continue and they will relax the cutoff by 10% to fill up the seats.
 
Sources have informed that admissions will be open for B Com programme at Kirori Mal College in the fourth cut-off. However, the college is likely to close its admissions for the general category for other courses. Sri Venkateswara College, in South Campus, will close all admissions for general candidates, while Motilal Nehru will only offer admission into Sanskrit (H) course. In addition, Ram Lal Anand will keep BSc (H) zoology and BA (H) Hindi open with a dip of 1% in the cut-off in the fourth list.
 
DU affiliated off-campus colleges like Gargi College, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma, Maharaja Agrasen and Dyal Singh are also likely to close admissions for the general category in the fourth list. However, Zakir Husain will offer enrollment into good number of its courses in the fourth list as well. Sarita Passey, media coordinator of the college, said that of the total 1, 200 seats 790 candidates have been filled so far. She added that admissions in most of the courses are still open and quite a few options will remain open even in the fourth list.
 
According to a statement issued by Inderjit Singh Bakshi, Principal, Dyal Singh College, there has been over admissions right from the first list and they will have to close admissions now. He also added that OBC admissions will remain open in five courses, but all general admissions will close in the fourth list, as they have not witnessed significant withdrawals so far.
