IIIT, IIM, IIFTEM, NIFT to be Launched in Haryana Soon

Chandigarh: Haryana will soon join the league of top educational hubs in India. The state is planning to launch four new institutes of higher education, from the premier learning group, on the outskirts of the National Capital Region (NCR) in Sonepat, a municipal council and ancient town in Haryana state. Now, Haryana will be another popular destination for pursuing higher studies from a reputed institution.
 
IIIT, IIFTEM, NIFT and IIM are the four leading institutions which will be setting up their centers in Sonepat. While Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) will come up in Kilrod village, Indian Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (IIFTEM), on the other hand, will be established at Kundli village.
 
According to sources, the Centre is also considering the setting up of another branch of the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Haryana state. Further, officials have confirmed that establishment of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Sunaria village has been given a green signal by the Centre.
 
IIM Sunaria is already conducting classes for various Post Graduate (PG) programmes at Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak, as its temporary campus. While 50 students took admission in the academic session 2010-11, 125 candidates were enrolled in the following season, 2011-12.

This year, four new ultra-modern institutions of higher education with high-tech infrastructure and best of the facilities were set up in Haryana. These are State Institute of Fashion and Design, State Institute of Film and Television, State Institute of Fine Arts, and State Institute of Communication at Rohtak - the Heart of Haryana. Candidates have been successfully enrolled for the current session.
