IIM - A Sectorama to Assume Bigger Shape

Ahmedabad: This year, Sectorama, the annual sector analysis competition of Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad (IIM-A), is likely to go grand. For the first time, all the six IIMs have decided to conduct the event jointly.  The event is conducted by IIIM-A's consult club, which focuses on 40 sectors and shortlists six that are in trend. Besides being held at other centres, the event will also be conducted online for other B-school students to participate in.

The first round of the event will commence on July 11-12 with a short, sector-based quiz where participants will be judged on fundamental understanding of the sector. Thereafter, round two will be about open-ended problems faced by a sector to which the participants will have to come up with solutions as well as presentations. Finally, the top 12 teams at the end of this stage will compete in the final on August 14 at IIM-A and present their solutions to a panel of experts.

As per sources, the organizers are hoping that around 1000 teams from top 25 B-schools across India will register for the event. Rahul Venkatraj, coordinator of the event, said that they felt that there was scope to take this event to the next level. He said the registrations were opened on Sunday and have already received 430 teams. He also added that that are expecting around 1000 entries.
