IIT-H Inks Pact with Infotech

Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infotech Enterprises Limited, on Wednesday, i.e. on August 10, 2011.
 
As per the MoU, IIT-H students would gain industrial exposure, internships, industrial visits and can also engage in live projects at Infotech. The company has 16 PhDs on its rolls and will also nominate its experts as additional faculty at the IIT-H campus. Moreover, it will also allow Infotech to undertake joint R&D and consultancy projects.
 
Infotech chairman and managing director BVR Mohan Reddy said they were in talks with IIT-H for re-skilling Infotech’s engineers. He said that they employ 9,000 engineers, out of which only 15-18 per cent have a Master’s degree. He also added that under the MoU, IIT-H will provide a scheme wherein these staff can get an advanced degree. Furthermore, IIT-H director, UB Desai informed that the institute is about to enroll 150 students for BTech and 40-45 for the MTech programme, next year
