Jamia Student to Represent India in World Universiade

New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University students represent India in the upcoming World Universiade, held in China from August 12 to 23, 2011. 

A student of MA Final Year (Convergent Journalism) course at AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC) has been selected in the ‘Indian Universities Tennis Team’ which will represent India at the event. As per a press release issued by the University, total of 118 Asian countries are participating in 24 different sports at the World Universiade being held in Shenzen, China from August 12 to 23, 2011.
 
Universiade, also known as ‘Little Olympics’ is a sports event which is hosted by the Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire. Only university students and students who have graduated from a university in the last two years (between the age group of 17 and 28) are only allowed to participate.
