St Stephen’s to Offer Business Education

New Delhi: St Stephen’s College of Delhi University (DU) launches its management centre last week with an aim to venture into business education. The newly launched management centre, namely St Stephen’s Institute for Management Excellence (SSIME), is all set to offer an Accelerated Development Programme (ADP), commencing from October 21, 2011.

SSIME’s initial ADP session will commence at the executive facilities of India International Centre in New Delhi. The course duration is four months, comprising of four modules each of five-day duration, with a gap of two weeks between each module. It is anticipated that the two to three-week gap between the modules would allow attendees to return to their regular jobs, minimizing absence related efficiency loss.

The ADP targets the mid-career professionals and has been created in association with the Jones School of Business at Rice University in Houston, Texas, US. The institute will provide training and conduct research in business management, with an objective of advancing best-practices for the Indian business environment.

Though SSIME is closely allied to St Stephen’s College, it will remain an independent organization. Therefore, certificates provided at the end of the four-month programme will not be from Delhi University.
