CBSE to Declare Revaluation Result for Class XII Science Stream by June 30

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and other education boards are all set to declare the revaluation result of Class XII science stream by June 30, 2013. This fast forward move will benefit millions of aspiring candidates seeking admission into undergraduate engineering programmes of various National Institutes of Technology, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Delhi Technological University and other centrally funded technical institutes.

As per the officials of Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE), the revaluation will be done on priority basis since as per the norms of Ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD), only the top 20 percentile scorers in their respective Class XII boards or other qualifying examination and those who have appeared in Joint Engineering Examination (advanced) are eligible for admission to the IITs.

Every year, the result of many state boards gets delayed; henceforth, the COBSE and other educational boards have reached on a common consensus that the result of class XII examination for 2013 will be declared on June 15, 2013. This move will certainly facilitate the smooth conduct of the JEE exam as well as counseling.

DV Sharma, Secretary of COBSE, justified the decision taken by the Council and said that it is the need of time as from this year onwards, Class XII board results for admission into various NITs and other CFTIs will be considered; as such, the revaluation of the science students needs to be prioritized as their scores may change. He further added that on the basis of revaluation results, COBSE will compile the top 20 percentile scorers' data and pass it to the IITs for the selection procedure.
