GGSIPU Begins Sale of Admission Forms for Session 2012-13 from Today

New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Dwarka, has started the sale of admission forms for the ensuing academic session 2012-13, from today i.e. January 20, 2012. With the issue of forms, GGSIPU is apparently the first University in the Capital, to kick off the admission season this year. Reportedly, this year, forms are released two months earlier than usual so that more interested students can apply for admission. The forms for the MBA programme were released in December 2011.
 
As per sources, the University has issued four admission brochures for the academic session 2012-13, announcing open admissions for professional programmes, engineering and architecture programmes, MBBS programmes and post graduate medical degree or diploma programmes. In total, the University provides more than 40 courses across various departments and 106 affiliated colleges. In addition, aspiring students are also benefited with an opportunity to apply online, for which the registration will commence from January 25 onwards.
 
Prospectuses and application forms are being put up on sale across 23 branches of Indian Bank in the Capital and 21 branches outside Delhi. However, the common entrance tests for various courses are to be conducted between May 12 and June 3, 2012, following which the counselling for the same will also start. The last date of submission of forms is April 16.
 
While discussing about the early sale of admission brochures, D K Bandyopadhyay, the Vice Chancellor (VC), said that the University has taken the step to make sure that a particular schedule should be followed for admission this year. He further informed that counselling for seats and the academic session for various programmes of the University will also start earlier than usual to ensure students get enough time to settle down before exams.
