HRD Ministry Launches DASA 2013-14

Direct Admission of Students Abroad 2013-14 is a common website launched for the students abroad to apply into the best Indian colleges. The launch of DASA 2013-14 is a remarkable step making it more convenient for the foreign students desirous of joining the top-notch institutes in India.

HRD ministry of India has taken the initiative regarding the launch of DASA 2013-14; a common website for the admissions of Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) / Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to apply to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other premier Technical Institutions in India, for the academic year 2013-14.

The HRD Ministry has entrusted the task of coordination and admission procedure under DASA scheme for the academic year 2013-14, to National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal.
As per sources, students who have secured at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.75 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) in the senior secondary [10 2] or equivalent with mathematics, physics and any one of the subjects from (chemistry, bio-technology, computer science, biology) in 11th and / or 12th and having a valid SAT subject score of at least 1440 are considered eligible to apply.

The application to undergraduate programmes (in Architecture & Engineering) has already begun since April 1, 2013. Applications for postgraduate programmes (in Architecture, Engineering & Management) will commence from May 1, 2013. In addition, students desirous to seek admission under the DASA scheme are required to apply online. They must fill an application form online and pay the fee in the form of a DD/ SWIFT transfer/ e-payment on or before May 25, 2013.
