New Delhi: With the new session of the Delhi University (DU) commencing today, colleges are flocked with students filled with notions and enthusiasm about their first day at college. The new entrants claim to have worked hard to fit into the DU fashion circuit.
The new session began with orientation programme conducted today at colleges. However, colleges such as SRCC, Hans Raj College, SGTB Khalsa College and Lady Sri Ram College for Women had conducted their orientation programme on Wednesday. Students at Hans Raj College got a spiritual start with havan performed in campus, while the SRCC arranged a lunch for the freshers on Wednesday. SRCC classes are scheduled from today itself.
The university colleges are well equipped to restrain the ragging menace inside the campus. Various arrangements have been made by the University to control the ragging and its terror that seems to be prevalent among the fresher’s. North district police in the north campus have set up special police picket to help students from ragging.
