IGNOU’s New Economy Skills Programme for Visually Challenged

New Delhi: Great news for the visually challenged! Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new programme i.e. Diploma in New Economy Skills, especially for the visually challenged. The programme intends to make them economically independent, by training them in fields like information technology and communication.
 
The new programme launched by IGNOU will be spread over a period 10 months. It is a diploma course, which aims at imparting information technology and communications skills, so that the visually challenged can be employed in Call Centres, Corporate Houses, Audio-Video Related Jobs, and the like. Besides information technology, the course module of the programme includes general knowledge, current affairs, soft skills, mathematics and logical reasoning.
