Lucknow: On Wednesday, i.e. on June 9, 2010, the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of North Carolina (UNC) in US for research and academic exchange, according to an statement issued by an official.
As per sources, Zeeshan Ahmad, AMU's Assistant Public Relations Officer has said that the agreement aims to promote exchange of information and material that are of mutual interest of the two premier institutions. The MoU would facilitate exchange of academic, administrative, research staff and visits of scholars and students.
Furthermore, Mr Ahmad also added that the agreement will remain in force initially for five years. It primarily aims to establish the terms and conditions that facilitate the summer programme of the UNC during which their students could visit AMU.
