New Delhi: The government has given its nod for the inclusion ofMandarin Chinese language studies in the curriculum of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The reason is being stated that it will be a trust building measure between India and China.
Gautam Bambawale, Joint Secretary (China) in the external affairs ministry, has said that the introduction of Chinese in schools will increase trust between the two countries. He also said that it will help prepare the younger generation to understand China better.
Furthermore, Mr Bambawale has added that it will be a confidence building measure. As per sources, the CBSE is likely to introduce Mandarin Chinese studies in schools starting from Class 6 from the new academic session 2011-12.
