DTU Postpones Mid-Semester Exams

New Delhi: Delhi Technological University (DTU), earlier the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), has resolved to postpone its mid-semester examinations. DTU has taken the step with no solution in sight as of now, after the mass boycott by its students.

As per sources, it has been almost two weeks that the students have been agitating against the alteration of the brand Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) to that of a state university namely Delhi Technological University (DTU). In addition, the students’ demands also include dismissal of the Vice Chancellor P.B. Sharma.

In DTU campus, the examination, which was held on Tuesday, i.e. on March 17, 2010, had a thin attendance of only 80 students out of 2,900, which forced the authorities to postpone the exams. However, talks between student representatives and Principal Secretary P.K. Tripathi and Secretary of Higher Education Anand Prakash did not yield any resolution on the same day itself.
