DU Keen to set e-labs for Science Education

New Delhi: Good news for students pursuing science courses in Delhi University (DU)! The university is keen to set e-labs for students where they would be able to observe experiments being carrying out in an animated series, along with understanding the process and concept behind it. As per sources, the initiative is a part of e-content being prepared by Institute of Life Long Learning (ILLL), to provide resource material to students on the internet.

Live experiments, along with the animated series would also be recorded in the college labs. The sole aim of such an innovative initiative is to encourage the out of box thinking of a student such that he is able to understand the concepts of science behind the experiments so that they can try going beyond the curriculum once they hit the lab. Further, considering the number of students who withdraw admissions every year, there's hardly anyone keen to take science courses in the university. However, the ILLL is trying its best to draw in the science crowd in the campus.

According to the statement of Professor A K Bakhshi, Director of ILLL, they don't want their students to be rote learners; rather, they welcome the out of box thinking, which would foster his growth in the years to come. The virtual experiments would be uploaded on the website for anytime reference of the student. As per sources, the e-labs would be accessible once the ILLL portal is launched.
