DU To Introduce New Course On Global Business Skills

New Delhi: University of Delhi, popularly known asDelhi University (DU), is likely to introduce new course to develop global business skills for the students enrolling in the new academic session. DU has taken the initiative to introduce these courses with an aim of bridging the gap between academics and industry.
 
As per sources, the course will be a pilot run course, which will be offered at five centres namely: SGTB Khalsa College, Sri Venkateswara College, Maitreyi College, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College and Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies. According to a DU Official, admission to this course could be sought by appearing for an entrance test. Also, the programme is offered to all students enrolled with the university.
 
The course will have a major focus on industry awareness, communication skills, customer management and cultural. The course will be divided into two parts of 60 hours each - from August to November and January to March. With the course fee set at Rs 4000, the course will be conducted both in the classroom mode as well as in the virtual (online). However, the discussions on the quantum fee are still going on.
 
The curriculum of this course is designed by different multinational companies, which also resulted in the collaboration between DU's Institute of Lifelong Learning (ILLL) and National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM). Although it is the multinationals who have set the syllabus for the programme, but it will be imparted by the faculty from various DU colleges.
